Foamed concrete is the best insulator for heat and sound.

If you’re looking for a solution to humidity or high temperatures, especially if you live in a country with high temperatures, or if you want to build a residential home where residents can enjoy peace and comfort, here’s the best insulator that all finishing and decoration companies turn to: foam concrete.

What is foam concrete?

Foam Concrete is a mixture of specific proportions of liquid cement (clay), sand, and some other foaming chemicals. This mixture produces air bubbles, which reduces its weight and increases its volume. This mixing process is carried out inside a special machine.

What are the advantages of foam concrete?

Foamed concrete has many properties, including:

1- Light weight:

Foam concrete is lightweight, making it suitable for use on sloped surfaces.

2- Saving expenses:

Foam concrete is also inexpensive, making it a cost-effective alternative to regular concrete. Its price is approximately 25% lower than that of regular concrete, making it ideal for use in specific areas of buildings that do not require high compressive strength.

3- Saving time:

Foam concrete is a mixture of very liquid cement and foaming agents, making it more fluid than regular concrete. This means less time, easier shaping without the need for vibrators, and faster on-site work.

4- Heat insulation:

Replacing regular concrete with foam concrete provides comfort for residents. Foam concrete has a thermal conductivity value of 0.1 to 0.43 W/m³C, while regular cement has a thermal conductivity value of 1.85 W/m³C. This also makes it fire-resistant.

5- Sound insulation:

Foam concrete absorbs sound waves, preventing them from passing through to other parts of the building, preventing noise and ensuring peace of mind for residents.

What is foamed concrete used for?

Foam concrete is used for many purposes, including:

  • Ground leveling layer for filling ditches, old channels, and voids.
  • An auxiliary or base layer for interior or exterior walls of buildings for heat and sound insulation.
  • Building roofing work.
  • Prefabricated building.

Disadvantages of foam concrete

The disadvantages of foam concrete are that it is weak and water-permeable, due to its light weight.
